Guterres Says His Visit To Iraq Is Historic And Comes In Solidarity With The Iraqi People In Its War Against Terrorism

Baghdad (NINA) 30, March- The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that his visit to Iraq is historic and comes in solidarity with the Iraqi people in its war against terrorism, noting that the liberation of Mosul and defeat terrorism will contribute to support the unity of Iraq and work to develop its institutions in the next stage.
A statement for the foreign ministry said "Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari received UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who also stressed that the UN mission in Baghdad is making great efforts to support the unity and stability of Iraq and help the Iraqi government and provide the required services for displaced families, and also to strengthen its relations with various countries of the world. "
The statement quoted him as saying that expressed his readiness to support Iraq and adopt resolutions supporting it in the United Nations and ending the effects of some of the resolutions that included Iraq because of the former regime and cooperate and support Iraq's proposal to criminalize terrorist thinking and work to prevent its spread ".

He continued: "Turkish forces are still violating Iraqi sovereignty despite the demand of Iraq to withdraw and obtain an Arab consensus from the Arab League and the demand of many friendly countries from Turkey to withdraw from Iraqi territory,.
