Fisherman Rescue Dolphin In Buleleng Waters

SINGARAJA, BALI, March 21, (Antara) - The Buleleng Waters Police have rescued a dolphin that was stranded in Gerokgak Beach, Bali Province. "Some fishermen saw the dolphin stranded on the beach. They contacted us and we directly rescued the mammal," the Head of Public Relation of Buleleng Police Adjunct Commissioner (Pol) Nyoman Suartika stated here on Monday. The waves had flung the dolphin to the beach and the animal could not return to the sea. The size of the mammal was about 2.5 meters. "It was not so huge. Thus, we could treat the mammal easily," Suartika noted. The dolphin was stranded near the Segara Gerokgak Temple. Thus, many fishermen who came to the temple could see the stranded dolphin. "Fortunately, there were many fishermen who came forward to help the mammal," he remarked. According to Suartika, the fishermen had returned the dolphin to the deeper waters by Monday afternoon.
