Larijani: Group 5+1 should stop setting preconditions
Tehran, Feb 3, IRNA - Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Monday that the so-called group
5+1 should stop setting preconditions if it seeks to reach any
fruitful results.
Larijani made the remarks in a press conference with domestic and
foreign reporters in Tehran on Monday.
The Group 5+1 should ignore minor issues and understand that the
country is determined to continue its peaceful nuclear activities, he
said.
During talks with Solana, Iran?s proposed Modality plan was quite
successful, he said adding that the plan helped remove most of the
ambiguities and the IAEA Chief ElBaradei hasapproved peaceful nature
of Iran?s nuclear program.
The western countries have claimed that they understand that Iran
does not seek to attain nuclear weapon but they are concerned that the
country might attain such weapons in the future, he pointed out.
They should understand that our clever nation who spared no efforts to
attain such high know-how technology never accepts such illogical
reasoning, he said.
They should find a way out of the current dilemma and express their
concerns which would be to the benefit of both sides, Larijani said.
