IORA Summit Delegates have Soto Kudus for Dinner

Jakarta, IORA - The IORA Summit delegates attended the gala dinner in Jakarta were treated with a variety of national distinctive dish among which were Soto Kudus (traditional meat soup originated from Kudus, Central Java) and Lumpia Basah (Indonesian spring roll). The gala dinner is part of the series of events in the IORA Leaders' Summit 2017 held at the Plenary Hall, Jakarta Convention Center on Monday night (3/6). On that occasion, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo who were accompanied by Lady Iriana Joko Widodo expressed his appreciation to the attending guests in his welcoming address. As a form of appreciation for delegates who were present in this historical summit, a variety of Indonesia's distinctive dish were served, including lumpia basah, tuna, and soto kudus of Central Java. The gala dinner also served green rice with snapped head curry from North Sumatra, and sweets made from cilembu sweet potato from West Java. Proceeding the gala dinner was a performance of a colossal dance entitled Maritim Jaya by Kinarya GSP. President Joko Widodo welcomed all attending delegations of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Summit . "Welcome to Jakarta, the capital of the Republic of Indonesia, also center of trade and business. We really appreciate and respect your presence in this historical event, the first Leaders' summit after 20 years of IORA," said the President. A number of heads of state/government who present at the gala dinner were South African President Jacob Zuma and Ms. Bongi Ngema Zuma, President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena, President of Mozambique Filipe Nyusi, Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, as well as Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and Ms. Rosmah Mansor.
