RI State Secretariat Ministry Holds HODs Arrival Simulation in IORA Summit 2017

Jakarta, IORA - Beginning promptly at 9:30 AM, dozens of men dressed in brown batik stood in order in front of the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC) entrance, Jakarta. Shortly after, an Indonesian army officer dressed in camouflage pattern uniform announced that the rehearsal was about to start.
A few minutes later, a troupe of shiny black cars simultaneously enter the area. Four SUV cars escorted a BMW 7 series sedan, while a patrol car and two black Yamaha FZ1 motorcycles rode by Indonesian Presidential Guard (Paspampres) which guard the entourage split from the line and took the outside lane of JCC lobby. The entourage comprises of five black cars then stopped right in front of the lobby. Once the door opened, two men who played roles as Head of Delegate and Liaison Officer immediately walked into the JCC building. Everything happened so fast and so precise.
A total of 37 BMW 7 series and 5 series sedan provided by BMW Group Indonesia will be used by the heads of delegations (HODs) attending the IORA summit. Not only elegant, the vehicles are also environmental friendly, fuel efficient, and low in emissions. In this event, each delegate will receive a VVIP sedan and four SUV cars, complete with special security forces.
The simulation of HODs' arrival was part of series of activities held by RI Ministry of State Secretariat in the preparation of Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) summit to be held on March 5-7, 2017. For the first time in 20 years, Indonesia will host IORA member states’ Heads of State and delegations. A number of foreign media appreciated RI President Joko Widodo and Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi who initiated the implementation of this historic event that will generate IORA Concord and other agreements.
Twenty IORA member states’ Heads of Delegations will be present in the event, consisting of four Presidents, four Vice Presidents, three Prime Ministers, three Deputy Prime Ministers and 6 Ministers. Among prominent names are the South African President Jacob Zuma, Indian Vice President Hamid Ansari, and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. In addition, a number of Dialogue Partner’s head of delegation confirmed their attendance in IORA Summit, namely from Myanmar, China, Japan, Egypt, Germany, and England. (Translator: SC)
