Algerian Foreign Minister In Baghdad Soon To Enhance Joint Cooperation

BAGHDAD / NINA / Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra announced that he plans to visit Baghdad in the coming period in the framework of strengthening cooperation between the two countries. A statement by the Foreign Ministry said today that, "Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari met Lamamra on the sidelines of meetings of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, and stressed the importance of concerted efforts to enhance the security and stability of the region and increase the volume of cooperation with Iraq in various fields." Algerian Foreign Minister, during the meeting, praised "the progress made by Iraqi forces in the fight against terrorism, adding he will visit Baghdad in the coming period in the framework of strengthening cooperation between the two countries." For his part, al-Jaafari praised, "the support positions of Algeria to Iraq in His confrontation with terrorism in the international arena, adding that " We have to cooperate and work on the drafting resolutions in the Arab League would maintain Arab interests and meet the challenges facing the region. " The statement quoted him as saying: it was not the victory of Iraq in its war against terrorism away from supporting the brotherly and friendly countries, and all those who contributed to support Iraq have the right to rejoice the victories achieved. " During the meeting, the statement said that they discussed "the conduct of the Iraqi-Algerian relations, and ways of developing them to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples, as well as discussing the efforts in the war against Daesh and overall developments in the region. / End
