Deputy Speaker To Review Political And Security Developments With The Australian Ambassador

BAGHDAD / NINA / Deputy Speaker of Parliament Aram Sheikh Mohammed discussed with the Ambassador of Australia to the Iraq Christopher Langman, latest developments in the security and political developments on the scene and victories achieved on the ground by Iraqi forces and progress to liberate the right side of Mosul.
A statement by the Information Office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament said "Sheikh Mohammed received today the Australian ambassador in his office at the House of Representatives, and the two sides discussed ways of strengthening bilateral relations and expand the horizons of joint cooperation in all economic and cultural fields."
Sheikh Mohammed confirmed the importance of relations between the two countries, adding that: "Australia has important positions to support Iraq in its war against terrorism and extremism and training Iraqi forces and provide urgent humanitarian assistance for displaced people in Iraq."
He explained that "the Iraqi Council of Representatives is going on holding meetings to perform its legislative and supervisory role to enact laws that serve the citizens and the political process, and meetings between the political blocs is ongoing to resolve the problems and differences and outstanding issues."
For his part, Australian Ambassador confirmed his country's keenness to develop bilateral relations between the two countries, and his government is following up the events and military battles waged by the Iraqi forces now to liberate the remaining lands," stating" "Australia will continue to support the Iraqi people to face challenges and combat terrorism and overcome the crises and intensify the work for the stability of Iraq, "./End
