Al-Eryani affirms importance of spreading knowledge about YRCS role

SANA'A, Feb. 01 (Saba)- Abdul-Kareem al-Eryani, a political advisor
for President Ali Abdullah Saleh and honorary chairman of Yemen Red
Crescent Society (YRCS) affirmed on Sunday importance of spreading a
knowledge about role of the society to response to heath needs of
the nation.

In opening session of the meeting for partners of the society held
in Sana'a, al-Eryani highlighted role of the YRCS in cases of
disasters and humanitarian cases.


Al-Eryani wished that the two-day meeting is organized by the YRCS-
would come with medial awareness programs to encourage youths to
involve in voluntary works of the YRCS, pointing out to the
importance of the support from the people to the society.

For his part, the YRCS chairman Mohammed al-Kabab said that the
meeting aims at reviewing achievements of the society and challenges
facing it during the period 2007-2010.

Al-Kabab indicated to the importance of strengthening cooperation
with partners in coming years to serve humanitarian objectives
targeting poor classes across the country.

Some 11 partners of the YRCS were taking part in the meeting
including International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent,
International Committee of Red Cross, and Red Cross societies of
Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, UAE, and Iran as well as
UNHCR.
