Indonesia, Denmark Strengthen People-To-People Contact
Jakarta, Feb 8 (Antara) - Indonesia and Denmark are committed to strengthening their people-to-people contact through an art and cultural exhibition, held in the Gammelgaard Herlev Cultural Centre in Denmark, February 4.
According to a press release received here, Tuesday, the exhibition was a concluding activity to a series of art and culture events organized by the Indonesian Embassy to Denmark and Lithuania in Copenhagen, from January 16 to February 4 and it was officially opened by mayor or Herlev, Thomas Glydal Petersen.
"This exhibition aims to build a stronger communication between the people of Indonesia and Denmark through art and ultimately strengthening people-to-people contact," Indonesian Ambassador to Denmark and Lithuania Muhammad Ibnu Said is quoted as saying.
He further said that Indonesia is looking to intensify its cooperation with Denmark, especially in the art and culture sector.
The concluding event called 'Indonesian Night' also presented a number of Indonesian artists, including Awang Behartawan, Dadi Setiady, Adu Yadoni and Sunar Sugiyou.
Furthermore, the Indonesian Embassy in Copenhagen also showcased various performances that are unique to Indonesia, such as Gamelan music acted by Indonesian Diaspora in Denmark, Angklung music performed by the Embassy's staff.
A number of traditional dance shows were also part of the event.
Some 300 visitors, most of which were the people of Denmark got to enjoy the activity which also exhibited a number of Indonesian handicrafts.
They also got to experience Indonesian culinary and learn how to cook novelty dishes such as fried rice (nasi goreng) and satay through cooking demo sessions.
