Jaafari, Hariri In Beirut Discuss Prospects For Boosting Relations Between Iraq And Lebanon

BAGHDAD / NINA / Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari discussed in Beirut with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri, the prospects for improving relations between the two brotherly countries to meet the ambition and developments of mutual interest and regional issues. Jaafari confirmed in a press statements to a number of media after his meeting with Hariri, according to a Foreign Ministry statement today that "Iraq and Lebanon are two collaborative states , and we enjoy a very strong relationship between the Iraqi and Lebanese people for a long time, and I found assiduous to deepen the relations more and exchange interests," stressing the need "to cooperation in joint files between the two countries, whether in the area of security or economic or political levels. Jaafari arrived to Beirut yesterday and during his visit he met Lebanese President Michel Aoun and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri. / End
