NA chairman pays Tet visit to Hanoi district

Hanoi (VNA) - National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong visited Hanoi 's Thuong Tin district on Jan 29 and extended New-Year greetings to the local people.


Trong was accompanied by senior officials, including director of the NA Office
Tran Dinh Dan, head of the NA Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children
Dao Trong Thi, minister of Natural Resources and Environment Pham Khoi Nguyen,
chairwoman of the People's Council of Hanoi Ngo Thi Doan Thanh.

The NA Chairman visited Nhi Khe commune of Thuong Tin district, where he thurified
to remember Nguyen Trai, a Vietnamese fifteenth-century hero, a great thinker and
politician who has been honoured as a World Cutural Celebrity. The chairman joined
local people in the tree-planting festival.

Trong praised local people and officials for their achievements in socio-economic
development and improving life quality.

He expressed his belief that Nhi Khe commune in particular and Thuong Tin district
in general would continue their historical and cultural tradition to further
develop, deserving the homeland of a national hero and world cultural celebrity.


On the same day, the NA Chairman paid a Tet visit to Hanoi Radio-Television
