ASEAN PR Network, Journalists Confederation Enhance Cooperation

Jakarta, Jan 11 (Antara) - ASEAN Public Relations Network (APRN) and the Confederation of ASEAN Journalists (CAJ) agree on enhancing cooperation in the field of public relations and media. The agreement is set out in the Memorandum of Friendship and Cooperation signed by CAJ President Thuan Huu and APRN President Prita Kemal Gani in the presence of ASEAN Director of Community Affairs Directorate Lee Yoong Yoong here on Friday. "The agreement between CAJ and APRN is a joint commitment to face the challenges, reduce gaps and strengthen the understanding between ASEAN member countries," Prita said in a speech at the opening of the event. The commitment is expected to support the initiatives and efforts which aimed at enhancing various cooperation and mission under the memorandum of understanding. "This agreement is just a beginning of a harmonious journey cooperation between CAJ and APRN, and also between the member countries of ASEAN," Prite asserted. The signing of MoU on friendship and cooperation between CAJ and APRN is one of program of CAJ Board of Directors meeting which participated by delegates from, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. CAJ was established in Jakarta on March 11, 1975 by the national journalists of ASEAN member countries. London School of Public Relations (LSPR) in Jakarta formed APRN that bring together leaders, scholars, practitioners, and other parties related to the public relations of the ten ASEAN member countries. In APRN they build connections, discuss and share current issues and create integrated programs that will develop public relations quality in the ASEAN member countries.
