International Enjoys To Attend National Press Day

AMBON, Maluku, Jan 11 (Antara) - International envoys will attend the National Press Day celebration that will be held in Ambon, Maluku Province, in February. At least six ambassadors have confirmed their participation in the event, Bob Iskandar, a member of the National Press Day committee, declared here, Tuesday. Ambassadors from Vietnam, Russia, the Philippines, Slovakia, Pakistan and North Korea have confirmed their participation for the ceremony on February 9. "Besides, we are still awaiting confirmation from embassies of Croatia, Austria, Malaysia, South Korea, China and Suriname," Iskandar said. At least 10 ambassadors are expected to attend the event, Iskandar affirmed. The committee has also sent an invitation to President Joko Widodo. Several envoys of international organizations such as the UNESCO, WHO and UNDP are also planning to attend the event, Iskandar mentioned. A few foreign journalists have also been invited to Ambon. Two journalists, each from Thailand and Vietnam, as members of the Confederation ASEAN Journalist or CAJ, will follow the event, Iskandar revealed. Additionally, the All China Journalist Association or ACJA will appoint six journalists to visit Ambon. Meanwhile, South Korea will be represented by two journalists who have joined the Jakarta Foreign Correspondent Club or JFCC. Earlier, the National Press Day of 2016 was held in Mandalika of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province.
