Indonesian University, Taiwan Establish Cooperation On Information Technology
JAKARTA, Dec 23 (Antara) - An investment company of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta, PT. Gamatechno Indonesia, has established strategic alliances with a technology company from Taiwan, Tai Twun Enterprise Co., Ltd. to develop system-based service and technology solutions used in building a smart city.
A statement from UGM received by Antara here on Thursday said as a company engaged in providing information technology solutions, Gamatechno focuses its business to serve universities, government agencies, transportation and logistics services, and lifestyle industries.
"Tai Twun has technologies that can be implemented in Indonesia. Therefore, this cooperation will be beneficial for both parties," Gamatechno's Director Muhammad Aditya A. N said prior to the signing of a memorandum of agreement between PT. Gamatechno Indonesia and Twun Tai Enterprise Co., Ltd., on Thursday (Dec 22) at the University Club of UGM.
In collaboration with Tai Twun, Gamatechno will further enhance its business in the field of transportation technology, he added.
So far, Gamatechno has developed several flagship products for transportation and logistics companies, such as gtFleets (fleet management information systems), gtSmartTicket System (electronic ticketing system based on smart card), as well as mTransport (mobile applications for information and public transport services).
Together with Tai Twun, Gamatechno will develop transportation technology applications that can be used on a massive scale in Indonesia, Aditya added.
This agreement specifically aims to provide mutual support in developing and marketing technology products in Indonesia, he noted.
"We already have a lot of applications to support the development of smart cities. However, we also need hardware. We cannot build it all alone, and therefore work together with other parties," Aditya explained.
A representative of Tai Twun, Thomas Soo, reminded that the cooperation amounted to an effort on the part of both the companies to bring together their expertise and jointly develop useful products.
"The UGM has taken a new leap with this cooperation. I believe this is the beginning of a good relationship," he hoped.
