Iranian parliamentary delegation in London

London, Jan 28, IRNA - A delegation of five Iranian parliamentarians arrived in the UK Tuesday for a five-day visit, during which they are due to hold talks with British Foreign Office Minister for the Middle East Bill Rammell.

The five Iranian MPs, led by Hossein Nejabat, MP for Tehran, are from
the Iranian-British parliamentary group and will also meet their
counterparts in the House of Commons.

Other meetings will be held with the chair of Foreign Affairs Select
Committee, Mike Gapes, British Muslim MPs as well as opposition
Conservative MPs and members of the House of Lords.

During the visit, the Iranian MPs will also travel to Edinburgh to
meet members of the devolved Scottish parliament.

The MPs were visiting the UK at the invitation of the British-Iranian
All-Party Parliamentary Group, chaired by Conservative MP Ben Wallace.

Last July, a delegation from the Conservative Middle East Council led
by shadow foreign minister David Lidington visited Iran. The last
visit by Iranian parliamentarians to London was in April 2007.
