Hungarian Artists Showcase Art Work On Indonesia

JAKARTA, Dec 6 (Antara) - Three Hungarian artists showcased their art work on Indonesia in the form of photos, paintings, and batik at an exhibition organized by the Indonesian Embassy in Budapest, a statement from the embassy received by Antara here on Monday said. Indonesian ambassador to Hungary Wening Esthyprobo opened the exhibition titled "Art Kalamakara" in Ifjúsági Ház, Debrecen city, on Friday (Dec 2). The three Hungarian artists, Yvette Bardos, Ur Eleonora, and Laszlo Balogh, admitted that they loved Indonesia and expressed their love through their art. "Many Hungarians go to Indonesia and fall in love with the country. This is the fifth exhibition I have opened in Hungary," Wening said, adding that it was clear evidence that Indonesia had a place in the hearts of the Hungarians. The ambassador noted that Ur Eleonora, who displayed her batik paintings, has an exclusive batik gallery in Szentendre city, about 22 kilometers from Budapest. Szentendre is a city of art that has become one of the iconic tourist hotspots in Hungary. Therefore, the batik gallery indirectly supports the promotion of Indonesia to Hungarians and international tourists. The "Art Kalamakara" exhibition tells about the lives of the people of Central Java, especially in Yogyakarta, through paintings and batik. The exhibition will run at the Youth Center of Ifjúsági Haz in Hungary until December 31, 2016.
