Chinese investor builds rubber factory in Oudomsay
(KPL) Oudomsay province has given green lights to Zhong-Ou Rubber Company, Yunnan province of China, to construct a rubber processing factory in Kornoy village, Say district.
The agreement on such development was reached in the province last week. The agreement said the Chinese investor was allowed to build the rubber factory on 9 ha of land with an investment of US$ 5 million. The company will operate the factory for 30 years before transferring it to the government.
Signatories to the agreement were Mr. Tingchalong, Director of Zhong-Ou Rubber Company, and Mr. Houmpeng Southivong, Head of Planning and Investment Service of Oudomsay province.
Mr. Bounpone Boutanavong, Governor of Oudomsay province, and concern officials of the two sides witnessed the signing.
The construction is to start in this month. The factory will buy rubber from people in the province and its output will be exported overseas.
