Former Celtic boss joins Victory
Former chief executive of Scottish powerhouse Celtic, Ian McLeod, has joined the board of A-League club Melbourne Victory.
McLeod, 50, is the current managing director of retail giant Coles.
He was a controversial CEO at Celtic between 2001-03, pushing for the Glasgow club to quit the Scottish league to play in England.
McLeod was also a director at English Premier League club Fulham under chairman and Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed.
"He brings strong business acumen to Melbourne Victory and considerable understanding of football," Victory chairman Geoff Lord said in a statement.
"His experience as CEO of Celtic Football Club during a period where they won five trophies and as a director of Fulham Football Club in the English Premier League will be invaluable for us."
McLeod added: I have been impressed by how much Geoff Lord and his fellow directors have achieved with Melbourne Victory in only three years and I'm pleased to help with the club's future plans."
