Vietnam-Bulgaria diplomatic ties marked

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese Embassy in Bulgaria on Jan. 23 held a ceremony to celebrate the 59th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic ties (Feb. 8).

President of the Bulgarian National Assembly Georgi Pirinski and Chairman of the
Bulgarian NA Commission for Agriculture and Forests and President of the
Bulgaria-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group Vassil Kalinov were presented at the
event.

Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Quoc Bao highlighted milestones in the two countries'
relations over the past almost six decades and expressed thanks to the Bulgarian
people for their valuable support and assistance to the Vietnamese people during
their struggle for national liberation in the past and national construction and
development at present.

The Bulgaria top legislator Georgi Pirinski expressed his pleasure at the strong
development of friendship and cooperation between the two parliaments and people,
adding and said that the up-coming visit to Vietnam by Bulgarian President
Georgi Parvanov is a vivid manifestation of the fine relations between the two
States and peoples.

On this occasion, Ambassador Bao, on behalf of State President Nguyen Minh Triet,
presented the Friendship Order to President of the Bulgaria-Vietnam Friendship
Parliamentary Group Vassil Kalinov, who has made positive contributions to the
friendship between the two parliaments and peoples.-Enditem
