Electricity ministry discusses environment impacts of rural

SANA'A, Jan. 21 (Saba)-Ministry of Electricity and Energy organized
on Wednesday a session to study environment and social impacts of
the project of the rural electricity that would be carried out at
sum of 124 million.

The project will be funded by the International Finance Corporation,
French Agency for Development, Islamic Bank for Development and
Korean Energy Department in addition to the Yemeni government.

In the session, the Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy Ahmed
al-Ayni affirmed importance of the study to show impacts of the
projects on the daily life for the people in the benefited regions,
confirming the project would contribute to reduce negative affects
in the environment.

The session listened to the summary of the report of evaluating the
environment and social impacts of the project.
