Three fisheries ports to be reconstructed at $17millions

SANA'A, Jan. 21(Saba) - Minister of Fisheries Wealth Mohammad
Shamlan held talks on Wednesday with a French company on the
executive actions and proposals for reconstructing the fisheries
ports of Hodaidah ,Khawba, and Nashtoon with an estimated cost of
$17million.

During the meeting, head of the French company reviewed the studies'
results which already were carried out by the company which included
the necessary proposals for reconstructing the ports and new added
buildings after reconstruction process.

The estimated cost for reconstructing three fisheries ports amounts
$17 million distributed on $6 million for Hodaidah fisheries port,
$5 millions for Khawba fish port and $6 million for Nashton port in
Mahrah province, chairman of the French company said.

For his part, Shamlan pointed that the tender of executive works for
these projects will be announced in late February, praising the
company's adherence to end preparation of the projects' studies and
technical designs.

The new designs of ports have been prepared in accordance with the
latest standards applied in the European countries for regularizing
the operations of unloading fishes and sending them to the local
markets or exporting them abroad, Shamlan confirmed.

It is worth mentioning that the French company won the tender of
preparing technical studies of reconstructing the ports in 2008.
