Larijani: Iran's principled policy is to support Iraq's independence
ehran, Jan 21, IRNA - Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said here Tuesday that support for Iraq's independence and tranquility is the principled policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
"Iranian nation has so far stood beside the Iraqi nation under all
hard conditions and will do so in the future also, helping them
whole-heartedly," Larijani told visiting National Security Advisor of
Iraq Muwafaq al-Rubai here on Tuesday.
Larijani said that the Iranian Majlis is ready to help further
expansion of mutual ties with all its might.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani said that the victory of Hamas
despite all pressures and plots has opened a new chapter in regional
developments.
He said that establishment of a security system in the region by
regional states will benefit all.
Al-Rubai, for his part, noted that Iran?s assistance has had an
effective role in stabilizing security in Iraq.
He mentioned Baghdad?s determination to expel the outlawed Mujahideen
Khalq Organization members from Iraqi territory and said members of
the group have no position in Iraq and will soon be expelled.
He said executive measures have been adopted for MKO members to leave Iraq.
