President Ahmadinejad congratulates Hamas official
Tehran, Jan 19, IRNA -
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad congratulated Hamas Political Bureau
chief Khalid Mashal Sunday evening on the victory of the Palestinian
Resistance in Gaza.
Speaking in a telephone contact with Mashal, the president said, ?This
is the outset of the victory and the Resistance would complete it with
making more achievments in the future.?
President Ahmadinejad said, ?The occupiers' withdrawal from the Gaza
Strip, removal of the Israeli blockades from the besieged area and
reopening of the border crossings would pave the grounds for a
complete victory.?
The president urged Islamic states to add pressure on Israel to
withdraw its troops completely from Gaza.
He also called on Muslim countries to boycott goods made by Israel and
its supporters and put on trial the Zionist criminals.
Reiterating the support extended to the Palestinian government and
nation by the people and government of Iran, President Ahmadinejad
said that unity and strong belief in God would lead to victory.
Meanwhile, the Hamas official said that Palestinians would continue
their resistance until the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops and
removal of the Zionist regime?s blockades from the Gaza Strip.
Mashal appreciated the support extended to the oppressed people of
Palestine and their resistance by Supreme Leader of the Islamic
Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei as well as the Iranian nation
and government.
Under the increasing pressures of the international community, the
Zionist regime admitted on January 17, to announce a unilateral
cease-fire ending 22 days of savage attacks on the Gaza Strip which
left over 1,300 dead and more than 5,000 injured mostly women and
children.
