Ahmadinejad: Arab League Summit in Doha a victory for Muslims
Tehran, Jan 18, IRNA - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here on Sunday that implementation of decisions made in the extraordinary Arab League Summit in Doha will be a great victory for Islamic countries.
President Ahmadinejad made the remark in a telephone conversation with
his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad on Sunday.
The Iranian president called the stands taken and speech delivered by
the Syrian president in the Arab League Summit as very wise and
revolutionary and called for more coordination and cooperation on Gaza.
"We should try to carry out the decisions made in the Doha summit to
help materialize the cause of Palestine completely," said the Iranian
president.
Although, recent developments in Gaza were very bitter and
heart-rending but it led to victorious results and under the current
circumstances "We are duty-bound to help the Palestinian nation and
and create suitable grounds for them to continue their decent lives,"
said President Ahmadinejad.
The second humiliating defeat has defamed the Zionist occupiers, he
said, adding that it is incumbent upon all to cut ties and impose
economic sanctions on the Zionist regime to prevent it from committing
crimes and atrocities.
The Syrian president, for his part, fully backed the resistance of
Palestinians in Gaza and said "We never let any action against the
resistance movement to be taken. That the Zionists have declared a
unilateral ceasefire it does not imply that the issue is over and the
Zionists should withdraw from Gaza and put an end to its blockade."
It seems very difficult for the Zionists to get rid of current
situation, "We should not allow the situation to change," underlined
the Syrian president.
