19 UAE national undergraduates explore scientific innovation at Masdar Institute

ABU DHABI, 11th August, 2016 (WAM) -- The Masdar Institute of Science and Technology yesterday announced that 19 UAE national undergraduates engaged in scientific exploration at its research laboratories as part of its Ektashif summer programme this year. The Ektashif Summer 2016 programme offered undergraduates majoring in science, engineering or information technology, an opportunity to experience the advanced technology environment at Masdar Institute’s cutting-edge laboratory facilities. Nominated by their respective universities, the students participated in many exciting hands-on workshops and discussed on-going research conducted by faculty and current graduate students at Masdar Institute. Dr. Lamya Fawwaz, Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Public Affairs, Masdar Institute, said, "Ektashif provides undergraduate participants with an opportunity to experience sustainable engineering studies at Masdar Institute while teaching them about some of the exciting challenges and opportunities in fields like energy, water, and advanced materials.
