Searches fails to Central Coast swimmer

The second day of searching for a man who went missing after a late-night swim has proven unsuccessful, police say.
Rescuers spent most of Sunday searching for 26-year-old Marcelo Munoz, who went
missing after he and three friends - two men and a woman - entered the surf at
Shelly Beach, near The Entrance, about 3am (AEDT) on Saturday.
Mr Munoz, from Wakeley, failed to return to the beach and the body of one of his
companions, Charlie Daza-Parada, 20, from Liverpool, was pulled from the surf a
short time later.
Water police, surf lifesavers and lifeguards using inflatable boats and jet skis
took to the water on Sunday to continue the search, but a police spokeswoman said
the operation was called off late in the afternoon, without success.
"The crews haven't found anything," she said.
"The situation will be reassessed in the morning as to whether the search will be
continued."
