Rumours of banning Friday prayers in Deraz untrue

Manama, July 22 (BNA): The General Director of the Northern Governorate dismissed rumours that Friday prayers were banned in Deraz as untrue. He said the prayers were conducted as usual and clarified that the police had not received any call with regards to the Friday sermon preacher. The General Director said security procedures in the area are being conducted regarding the illegal gathering inside the village. He also said legal steps will be taken against disclosing false information in order to disrupt civil peace. He pointed out that deployment of the security officers in the vicinity of mosques nationwide aims to protect places of worship and secure worshippers. (MOI)
