MPs praise Interior Ministry, slam Iran’s subversive plots

Manama, July 22 (BNA): The efforts of the Interior Minister, led by Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, in arresting a terrorist cell on Thursday have been lauded by members of the Council of Representatives. In statements to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), they asserted that terrorists did not take the precepts of the Islamic religion into account, stressing that investigations into t and in using violence and terrorism to achieve its expansionist ambitions. The MPs extended gratitude to the brave security personnel for their high competence and accumulated experience, calling for inflicting the toughest punishment against those found guilty. They affirmed that the Council of Representatives will support all competent anti-terror authorities in using laws to deter saboteurs. They also called on the citizens and residents to cooperate with the security personnel for the sake of safeguarding the kingdom’s security and stability. The lawmakers were commenting on a statement issued today by the parliamentary "National Partnership" Bloc. The bloc lauded the efforts of the Interior Minister and the brave security personnel for their success in seizing bomb-making materials and weapons after arresting five suspects who were found to be planning bombings in several locations in Bahrain. The statement praised the pre-emptive steps taken by the Interior Ministry through investigation and search, which led to discovering storage areas of bomb-making materials. The suspects’ confession to having received intensive military training in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Iraqi Hezbollah camps is yet another evidence of Iran’s continuous efforts to carry out terrorist attacks aimed at disrupting security and stability in the kingdom of Bahrain, the bloc said. The bloc explained that Iran had carried on its rejected interference contrary to the good neighbourly principles, used violence and terrorism to achieve its external ambitions, targeted the brave policemen and terrorised innocent citizens and residents. Iran’s escalation through training terrorists breaches the precepts of the Islamic Religion, the bloc said in its statement, noting that the arrestees did not respect the Bahraini citizenship they are holding, and sought foreign support to carry out terrorist attacks aimed at subverting the security and stability of the kingdom. The bloc affirmed that all terrorist plots will be thwarted and that Bahrain will remain a symbol of giving, distinction and prosperity, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
