Germany's Nicolas Kiefer has withdrawn from the Australian Open with an ankle injury.
The world No.37 injured his left ankle during the recent Hopman Cup in Perth and was
hoping to be fit in time for the start of the Australian Open on Monday.
Kiefer was due to play unseeded Argentinian Guillermo Canas in the opening round.
