MoH launches e-birth certificates service

Manama, July 17 (BNA): Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh has launched the Health Ministry's e-birth certificates issuance service on the self-service machines in Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) in association with the Informatics and e-Government Authority (iEGA). The event was attended by the Health Ministry's Undersecretary Dr. Ayesha Mubarak Bu Enq, the Head of Parliament's Services Committee MP Abbas Al Madi, MP Ali Al Ataish, Shura Council Member also Head of Services Committee Dr. Jehad Al Fadhil, and iEGA's CEO, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed. During the ceremony, the minister has reaffirmed the existing cooperation between the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Informatics and e-Government Authority (iEGA) in boosting and upgrading the standard of services provided to citizens and residents and facilitation of applicable procedures for issuance of newborns' birth certificates. Al Qaed said the launch was in compliance with the directives of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to continue updating and modernisation of informatics systems and the provision of innovative electronic and IT solutions for the benefit of users and the provision of top quality governmental services to the citizens. Birth certificates can now be requested online through the e-government portal www.bahrain.bh obtainable from all hospitals all over the Kingdom of Bahrain within just five workdays instead of the previous period of three weeks.
