Government support to workers' associations reaffirmed

Manama, July 17 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan today met the secretary-general of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions (GFBTU), Hassan Abdullah Al Halwachi. The minister commended the efforts of the GFBTU's general secretariat and its keenness and attention to boosting the areas of constant cooperation and coordination that serve the issues of labour, productivity and boost the opportunities of mutual work between the three parties to production and boosting the bridges of communication, trust and constructive dialogue that serve national issues and achieve the aspiration balance and ensure the labour market stability and its development to contribute to enhancing the Kingdom of Bahrain's national economy. Minister Humaidan reaffirmed that the government led by Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa supported and assisted by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, has always been keen on facilitating and supporting the workers trade associations which are the representative of the workers who are one of the important parties to production and the mainstay of national development and progression in the country. The government has adopted all the various initiatives to create and/or find suitable jobs for citizens to ensure that job opportunities are free from any impact of economic transformations or challenges, added the minister. Al Halwachi praised the ministry's cooperation with the GFBTU and all labour associations, affirming that the GFBTU will be keen on showcasing the bright image of the workers' reality in the Kingdom of Bahrain at the various local and international functions.
