1st Yemeni Businesswomen National Conference to be held soon

SANA'A, Jan. 15 (Saba) - The first National Conference of Yemeni
Businesswomen is expected to be held in 26 January, the weekly 26
September reported on Thursday.

Director General of Federation of Yemeni Chambers of Commerce and
Industry Mohammed al-Maytami said that the conference aims to get
acquainted with the reality of the Yemeni businesswomen and their
capabilities to merge in the development process as well as
overcoming the hurdles facing them in the community.

The conference will address the opportunities to realize a strong
economic role for Yemeni businesswomen to assist in their
participation in the economic and investment development, al-Maytami
added.

The Federation will open an office for the Yemeni businesswomen to
activate their activities and overcome their obstacles, he added,
noting that the initial survey for businesswomen registered about
200 women in the five main governorates.

The conference which will be attended by 150 figures will be
organized by the Trade and Industry Ministry and the Federation of
Yemeni Chambers of Commerce and Industry in sponsorship with GTZ.
