Zionist offensive in Gaza is "barbaric war, says president

SANA'A, Jan. 14 (Saba)-President Ali Abdullah Saleh described on
Wednesday the Israeli "against the Palestinian people.

In his speech to 3rd consultative meeting of the military and
security leaderships, president Saleh said that the Zionist entity
was carrying out genocide against people of Palestine, highlighting
the Palestinian resistance in Gaza.

The Palestinian national resistance in Gaza teaches the Zionists a
hard lesson in Gaza, he said.

President Saleh expressed support of Yemen for the resistance.

Where are international justice and human rights toward breaches of
Israel in Palestine, criticizing the recent not obligatory UN
resolution which called for stop war, president Saleh wondered?

He also criticized a double standard adopted by the international
policy.

There is a request for handing over Sudanese President Omar
al-Bashir to the International Criminal Court and, why there is not
request to bring the Israeli leaderships to the same court for their
crimes in Gaza, president pointed.

President Saleh asked the international community to shoulder its
responsibility to stop the Zionist aggression, asking to bring an
end for the offensive in Gaza strip, withdraw occupation forces,
open border crossings and end an unfair siege on the strip.

He asked Arab countries to employ their interests with five
permanent member countries in the UN Security Council as tool of
pressure on them to ask Israel to stop its offensive against the
Palestinian people.

Saleh expressed thanks for the space channels that covered current
developments in Gaza especially al-Jazeera, Russia Today and
al-Arabyah.

He also highlighted protests of the Yemeni people across the country
in streets in solidarity with their brothers in Palestine, and
condemnation for the Israeli wild attack against Palestinians.

On the other hand, president Saleh praised in the meeting efforts of
the commands of the Yemeni armed and security forces in training and
qualifying the forces.

He encouraged the forces to go ahead with their tasks to maintain
security and stability of the nation, affirming concern of the
leadership with offering all care for these forces.

President Saleh also praised achievements of the forces in combating
terror and piracy.
