Mohammed bin Zayed meets Syrian President
Damascus, Jan. 15, 2009 (WAM) - General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces held talks Tuesday here with Syrian President Bashar Al Assad on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena amid unabated Palestinian aggression on Gaza strip.
They also discussed the relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in the best interest of the two peoples. The two officials expressed their pleasure about progress and growth of the relations in all fields.
Held at Public Palace in the Syrian capital, Damascus, yesterday, the meeting also stressed the significance of the international move to cease the aggression and adopt genuine Arab attitude to stop the tragedy in Gaza strip.
Sheikh Mohammed and the delegation arrived in Damascus yesterday, where he was received at the Damascus Airport by Syrian Vice President Farouq Al Shara and Syrian Foreign Minister Waleed Al Mualem.
Present at the meeting were National Security Adviser HH Sheikh Haza bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed on the UAE side, meanwhile, Syrian Vice President Farouq Al Shara and Syrian Foreign Minister Waleed Al Mualem attended on the behalf of Syria.
