Children in Gaza get a unique help from Dubai
Dubai, Jan 15, 2009 (WAM) - In a touching expression of innocent love , the inmates of the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre (RPTC) gave away their own wheel-chairs and private savings to help the Gazan children, who are struggling for their lives after being wounded in the ruthless bombardment by Israeli army.
Though Dh10,967 was all that they could raise from their private savings of several months, the children with special needs at the Rashid centre in Dubai gave a powerful message to the world that childhood is precious.
Many children at the Centre who used to move around in wheelchairs also gave them away to the charity associations so that they could take them to Gaza, where several children have lost their limbs in the brutal attack by Israeli forces.
Student Red Crescent Official Jameela Hassan received the charity from the children, who paid a visit to the Red Crescent headquarters in Dubai to express their anguish and pain in the wake of the Israeli aggression targeting children in Gaza.
Director of Dubai branch of the Red Crescent Mohammed Abdullah Al Zaraouni hailed this show of solidarity saying that it carries a unique meaning of humanitarian feeling.
Director of Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre Maryam Othman said that this gift is a humanitarian message written by the inmates of the centre in their own language.
