Central region's poor get double dose of Miss World
Quang Binh (VNA) - This year's newly-crowned Miss World, Ksenia Sukhinova, and her predecessor, 2007's Miss World Zhang Zi Lin, paid a visit to Canh Hoa commune, Quang Trach district, in the central province of Quang Binh on Jan. 14.
The two beauty queens presented 70 gift packages, each worth 500,000 VND, to
impoverished families in Quang Binh.
On the same day, they presented gifts of 30 houses, constructed using funds provided
by the Vietnam Red Cross, to poverty-stricken families in the locality.
The two beauties, together with Hoang Kieu, chairman of the US-based company RASS,
which sponsors Miss World's humanitarian activities in Vietnam , cut ceremonial
ribbons to inaugurate a bridge and a new road in Canh Hoa commune.
Also on Jan. 14, Ksenia Sukhinova and Zhang Zi Lin visited Quang Tri province,
presenting 810 gift packages to poor households in Cam Lo, Trieu Phong and Hai Lang
