Hegemony favors media silence on Gaza events

Tehran, Jan 14, IRNA - Silence of the media on Gaza incidents was the wish of hegemonic system which did not materialize due to the vigilance of committed media persons, said Islamic Republic News (IRNA) chief.

Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting of media persons to declare
solidarity with the Palestinian resistance at the Hamas representative
office in Tehran, Mohammad Jafar Behdad added that control over news
dissemination on Gaza events was one of the main aims of the Zionist
regime and western countries.

Stating that boycotting news and promoting silence is not possible in
today?s global village, he noted that after the committed media came
to the region for covering news about Gaza, the masters of West?s
media attempted to restrict the range of coverage.

Contending that Gaza itself is a media, Behdad added that zealous
presence of the Gazans defused all the plots of the Zionist regime.

Western media thought that they would be able to reflect the news as
they want and not as they are and incite public opinion against the
Islamic movement. But they failed due to the Gazans? sacrifices, he
said.
