The General Authority for Islamic Affairs '&' Awqaf Dh6m boost for Gaza aid campaign
Abu Dhabi, Jan 14, 2009 (WAM) - The General Authority for Islamic Affairs '&' Awqaf (GAIAA) yesterday presented Dh6 million in donation to the campaign sponsored by the Red Crescent Authority (RCA) to aid the Palestinian people in Gaza strip.
Dr. Hamdan Mussalam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the GAIAA, handed the cheque to H.E. Dr. Ali bin Abdullah Al Kaabi, Chairman of the RCA's Board of Directors.
Dr. Hamdan said the GAIAA was keen on supporting the RCA's humanitarian efforts, in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and General/ H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
