S. Korea, Iran forge tourism partnership
SEOUL, Jan. 13 (Yonhap) -- South Korea signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU)
with Iran to promote tourism and boost cultural ties, Seoul's culture ministry
said Tuesday.
The two countries will seek stronger tourism cooperation and push for the
establishment of tourist offices in each other's country, as well as promote
exchanges in tourism and journalism, the ministry said.
South Korean Culture Ministry Yu In-chon and his Iranian counterpart, Isfandiar
Rahim Mashaee, signed the MOU.
Mashaee, the Iranian vice president and head of Iran's cultural heritage and
tourism organization, came to Seoul Monday to attend the third round of the U.N.
World Tourism Organization's forum on climate change.
