OIC team to come to Iran for consultations soon: FM
Tehran, Jan 13, IRNA - Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Tuesday that a delegation from the Organization of the Islamic Conference is to come to Iran soon to review the latest Gaza developments with Iranian officials.
Mottaki made the remarks while ringing the bell at a boy?s primary
school in southern Tehran this morning in support for resistance
movement of the Palestinians in Gaza Strip.
Bells of all schools throughout the Islamic Iran were rung in a move
to announce support of the Iranian government and nation for the
oppressed Palestinian people and the school children in the Gaza Strip.
Referring to his contacts with several regional and European
authorities on Gaza crisis, he said new political developments have
started in the region.
He added that cessation of Zionists military operations, withdrawal of
forces from Gaza, opening all crossing points, and establishment of
tranquility in the region were four main demands in his discussions
with world authorities.
Firing missiles from Israeli warships was another topic of discussion
reviewed by Iran and several regional and EU states, Mottaki noted.
Mottaki said that several delegations have been dispatched to many
world countries to deliver President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?s message on
the critical situation in the Gaza Strip.
The Islamic Republic of Iran had announced its readiness to set up
makeshift hospitals in Gaza or somewhere close to the Gaza Strip, he
said, regretting that such Iran?s proposal were rejected by Egypt.
He added that Tehran had urged all world countries, particularly the
Arab and Islamic states, which have diplomatic relations with Israel
to cut off their ties with the Tel Aviv regime in support for the
oppressed Palestinians who are under savage brutalities of that
occupying regime.
Tehran considers the Palestinians resistance movement as the real
winner of the ongoing conflict, the Iranian FM reiterated.
