S. Korea's state land firm to build industrial complex in India
SEOUL, Jan. 13 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's state-run land development corporation said Tuesday that it has signed a preliminary deal with India to develop an industrial complex there exclusively for smaller Korean companies.
Under the memorandum of understanding inked with the local government of Gujarat,
an 11-million square meter industrial complex will be built in the special free
economic zone 150 km north of Mumbai, according to the Korea Land Corp. Detailed
schedules for the construction and other information were not available.
The complex will house South Korea's small-sized chemicals, pharmaceutical,
machinery and textile companies. The Gujarat government will supply electricity,
gas and water services with support to be provided for the construction of nearby
roads, the corporation said.
