Mohammed Bin Rashid Charity Establishment allocates Dh20mn in aid to Gaza

Dubai, Jan 13, 2009 (WAM) - The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Establishment (MBRCHE) has allocated Dh20mn to provide immediate assistance to the Palestinians as more and more people are being displaced in Gaza due to Israeli aggression.

The amount will be spent to provide emergency supplies, especially medicines to save the lives of those who have been badly wounded in the wanton pounding of Gaza by the Israeli army. The intensive care units in the hospitals are struggling with the limited resources due to the increasing number of the casualties.

Part of the allocation will also be used to provide dried milk for children and the elders in Gaza as the food crisis is worsening every day.

Deputy Chairman of MBRCE's board of trustees Ibrahim Bumilha said that the intensive care units at hospitals will be provided with sanitation kits and other necessary equipments to perform urgent surgical operations on the victims of the Israeli attack.

Bumilha said that the situation calls for more assistance and help and the MBRCE has felt that philanthropists and charity associations are showing genuine keenness in extending the hand of help to alleviate the sufferings of Gazans. He called on individuals and institutions irrespective of their nationalities to come forward and help Gaza, which is bleeding in the Israeli aggression.

He said that the situation is so grave than any one can imagine, as Palestinians in Gaza are left without food and shelter as the result of the war.
