Vietnam completes construction of first dredger
Hai Phong (VNA) - The Ben Kien Shipbuilding Industry Company launched a 2,800 cu.m
dredger on January 12, the first vessel of its kind to be built in Vietnam .
At 80m long and 15m wide, the 'Elbe', ordered by the Netherlands ' Bagger
Bedriif Deboer Holdings Company, is fitted with state-of-the-art machinery,
enabling it to dredge silt-laden riverbeds or the seafloor to a maximum depth of
28m.
The company has previously constructed six container ships for its partners in the
