President, McGurk Discuss Bilateral Relations And Efforts To Liberate Mosul

BAGHDAD / NINA / President Fuad Masum discussed with US Special Envoy of the President for the management of the international coalition to fight Daash Brett McGurk relations between Iraq and the United States and the latest developments in the security, political and economic situation in Iraq, and strengthen efforts to liberate Mosul and the eradication of terrorism.
A presidential statement quoted Masum as confirming "the need to expand the frameworks of constructive cooperation and relations between Iraq and the United States at all levels, so as to ensure the highest interests of the two peoples."
For his part, McGurk reiterated his country's commitment to support Iraq, particularly in its war against terrorism, "pointing to" the need to strengthen cooperation between the two sides. "
McGurk also met, during his visit to Iraq, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi. / End
