Mohammed bin Butti donates Dh4 million to "Reach Out to Them" campaign

Abu Dhabi, Jan 11, 2009 (WAM) - The special humanitarian assistance campaign launched by the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) to reach out to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, suffering from Israeli aggression, has got a major boost. Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, Sheikh Mohammed bin Butti Al-Hamed, has donated AED4 million to the campaign, dubbed "Reach Out to Them".

RCA Board Chairman, Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Ka'abi, has expressed profound gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed for the kind gesture. He said the campaign seeks to boost the UAE's support for the Palestinian people, adding that the kind initiative is in line with the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It is also under the personal follow up of Deputy Prime Minister and RCA Chairman, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He pointed out that the various initiatives being undertaken under the umbrella of the "Reach Out to Them" campaign reflects the strong support of the UAE government and people to the Palestinian people in Gaza suffering from the ongoing tragic situation in the Gaza Strip. He said the RCA will continue to live up to the great trust reposted in it by continuing to achieve all its humanitarian and noble objectives of reaching out to people in distress, including the people of Gaza who are living under a very painful circumstance.
