Al Mansouri: More joint investments with Turkmenistan
Ashgabat, Jan 11, 2009 (WAM) - UAE Minister of Economy HE Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri said that the coming times will witness an enhanced economic partnership between UAE and Turkmenistan. Al Mansouri and the accompanying delegation concluded an official visit to Turkmenistan on Thursday exploring various avenues of cooperation between the two countries.
During his visit, the minister met the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow and several senior officials and discussed with them ways for bolstering economic relations between UAE and Turkmenistan.
Accompanied by the delegation, he also toured several facilities, sites with major investment potential and economic ventures in Turkmenistan.
During the talks, Berdimuhamedow stressed the need for both countries mutually benefitting from the expertise of each side through investments. He called on the UAE firms to benefit from the economic boom witnessed in Turkmenistan through investment either in oil and gas projects or infrastructure.
Turkmenistan is witnessing an intensive development in land transport and railway lines.
Berdimuhamedow also pointed out the importance of continued interaction between the officials in UAE and Turkmenistan, and promised every support to facilitate investment by UAE companies in his country.
Al Mansouri stressed UAE's keenness to enhance the bilateral relations with Turkmenistan and bolster economic partnership between the two countries, through the removal of all impediments in this regard.
