President Saleh meets Hamas official spokesman

SANA'A, Jan. 10 (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah Saleh met on
Saturday the official spokesman of Palestinian Islamic Hamas
Movement Sami Abu Zahri.

During the meeting, Abu Zahri briefed Saleh on the latest
developments in Gaza Strip and the Palestinians' suffering from the
brutal aggression, horrid massacres and unfair blockade carried out
by the Israeli occupation forces, highlighting the Hamas attitude
towards the UN Security Council's resolution No. 1860 and the
presented initiatives for stopping the aggression.

The President renewed his call to an immediate cessation of the
Israeli aggression, lifting the siege and opening the crossings in
addition to realizing the Palestinian national reconciliation.

He emphasized the significance of Palestinian unity to strengthen
the Palestinian national resistance for confronting the Israeli
aggression and current challenges as well as serving the Palestinian
people's interests and his fair case.

Saleh hailed the heroic struggle of the Palestinian people against
the aggression and blockade in Gaza, assuring the support of Yemeni
government and people to the Palestinians for obtaining their rights.
