Asian speakers sign letters on Gaza to European, LA speakers

Amman, Jan 10, IRNA - Speakers of Iran, Jordan, Syria and Indonesia on Friday signed two letters on Gaza events due to be sent to European and Latin American parliaments speakers.

Iran?s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and counterparts from Jordan Abdel
Hadi al-Majali, from Syria, Mahmoud al-Abrash, and from Indonesia,
Agung Laksono, signed the letter at the end of their meeting in Amman.
Rapporteur of Iran?s Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy
Commission Kazem Jalali told IRNA that the letters focus on Palestine
and Gaza, outlining Zionists? crimes in Gaza.
Jalali said the letters call on the European and Latin American
parliamentarians to contribute to assistance to Gazans and stopping
Zionists? attacks.
He said the letters want to draw somehow the parliamentarians?
contribution to Asian parliaments? efforts in connection with Gaza.
Larijani visits regional states as part of a delegation of the Asian
Parliamentary Troika, which includes speaker of the Syrian People's
Assembly Mahmoud Al-Abrach and Indonesian Speaker Agung Laksono.
The troika was also to hold talks with Lebanese President Michel
Suleiman and Prime Minister Fouad Seniora on Friday.
Larijani is accompanied by Rapporteur of National Security and Foreign
Policy Commission of Parliament, Kazem Jalali, Secretary-General of
Asian Parliamentary Assembly Hadi Nejad-Hosseinian and a number of MPs.
Israeli has been continuing its air strikes on the besieged Gaza Strip
for almost three weeks.
The attacks have killed almost 800 people and wounded thousands of others.
The international community is calling on Egypt to open its border to
the Gazans who has been under Israeli blockade.
