Vietnam, Singapore to collaborate in advertising training
HCM City (VNA) - The Advertising Research and Training Institute of Vietnam (ARTI
Vietnam) and the Institute for Advertising of Singapore (IAS) have agreed to
cooperate in the training of personnel for Vietnam 's fledgling advertising
industry.
Under the terms of an agreement signed in Ho Chi Minh City on Jan. 9, IAS will
transfer its curriculum and textbooks as well as send lecturers to teach advertising
training courses at ARTI Vietnam.
These courses, which include media planning, brand management and advertising by
design, are scheduled to begin in April this year.
ARTI Vietnam and IAS will also work alongside several Australian universities to
train graduates in the fields of creative communication and marketing communication.
All of these courses will be taught in both Vietnamese and English.
Do Kim Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Advertising Association and Director of
the ARTI, said that Vietnam's advertising industry has a need for at least 100,000
brand management and PR-Event professionals by 2010.
It is forecast that the country's advertising market will generate approximately 3
billion USD in revenue by 2020, of which 50-60 percent will line the coffers of
local firms, Dung noted.
On this occasion, ARTI Vietnam, officially established in Sept. 2008, awarded brand
management and PR-Event certificates to the first 36 students to have graduated from
the Institute.-Enditem
