Italian motor giant unveils factory in Binh Duong

Binh Duong (VNA) - Bonfiglioli Riduttori , Italy 's leading global manufacturer
of power transmissions for more than half a century, has opened a 16 million USD
electric motor factory in the southern province of Binh Duong .

An official opening ceremony took place earlier this week in the presence of
Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrea Perugini and Vice-Chairman of Binh Duong
People's Committee Vu Duc Thanh.

Bonfiglioli Riduttori's investment partner in this project is SIMEST, an Italian
government-owned company specialising in supporting Italian businesses'
international expansion programmes.

The state-of-the-art factory, equipped with modern machinery and almost fully
mechanised, has a total footprint of 18,000 sqm.

Pre-operation activities and production trials have been successfully carried out
over the last few weeks, and Bonfiglioli Vietnam is now ready to begin a full
production roll-out, according to a press release from the Italian embassy in
Vietnam on January 7.

"We are confident we can face the challenge of matching the international standard
requirements. To begin with, we will be focusing on producing electric motors for
export to the countries where Bonfiglioli Riduttori is already operating, and soon
we will tackle the domestic market," said Luigi Galimberti, General Director of the
Company.

The factory employs some 80 workers on a one-shift basis, together with 20 people
working in offices at the site.

Bonfiglioli Riduttori SpA is a leading company that competes at the highest levels
of the global power transmission market. With more than 2,500 employees in 14
countries, it is involved in the design, manufacture and distribution of a
complete range of gear motors, drive systems, and planetary gearboxes .-Enditem
